Vitale owns, and is the executive chef of, the highly acclaimed Zibibbo Ristorante in Florence,Italy. Bella Fortuna North's culinary team will bring the greatness of a Florentine restaurant to Northern Michigan using only the freshest ingredients available. Guests will find a daily menu carefully crafted with entrees made from scratch every day— appealing to those seeking authentic, traditional Italian cuisine and international favorites, all presented with innovative flavors and ambience.
A sample of menu items will include, Aranchi di Riso, Papperdella Chinghiali pasta with a wild boar sauce, Gnudi, spinach and homemade ricotta dumplings, Linguine Agilo e Olio and Hanger steak with Salsa Verde and Canellini Puree. Bella Fortuna North will purchase organically and locally to preserve the flavor, quality and nutrition of the food the chefs prepare for guests.
Bella Fortuna North is located in beautiful Lake Leelanau, Michigan, just twenty minutes west of Traverse City, Michigan. The creation of Bella Fortuna North is of part-time Leland residents, Dr. Bob Hesse and Dr. Jane Fortune, who also have a residence in Florence, Italy. Their enjoyment and passion of Florence, Italy inspired them to create a restaurant and transform a restaurant to reflect the very best of Florence. The building has been renovated to include a restaurant with an intimate private formal dining room with a fireplace, a trattoria, a beautifully landscaped terrace for al fresco dining, a Mugnini wood-fired oven and an emporio, a gift shop, that will carry authentic Florentine products and books about Florence and Tuscany. There is also a banquet room that opens out onto the terrace through large sliding glass doors. Hesse and Fortune however retained the original gorgeous mahogany bar that was shipped to the US, from Belgium, over 100 years ago.
Bella Fortuna will be a unique culinary experience, only be duplicated in Tuscany. The Grand Opening celebrations with the theme "Dine like a Florentine" are June 29th and 30th, 2012. A percentage of the dinner proceeds will benefit the Leelanau Cancer Center. For additional information, please contact email@example.com.
